Waffenrock (bunte Rock)

The Waffenrock, also known as the bunte Rock, was the coloured tunic of the Imperial German Army. Our Waffenrocks are made to order and configured according to regiment, period and branch of service, including the correct wool, cuffs, collar, piping and other details

This item is available for custom order only. Blue tunics were modified few times (i.e. the collar was changed, rear slit or cuff slits were added).

Before ordering one, please be ready to answer these questions:
1.  Regiment (these tunics had shoulder boards sewn into the sleeve seam).
2. Cuff type (Brandenburg, Swedish, Saxon, French cuffs), if Brandenburg/French what are the flap and its piping colors. Moreover you need to find out whether the cuff is made of one piece or separately.
3. Collar shape (rounded or pointed)
4. Year. If you need your tunic for specific event (Danish 1864 war, Austrian 1866 war, Franco-Prussian 1870 war, etc.) I need to focus on specific details.
5. Fabric type (standard blue wool or fine blue or green wool). The price is higher for better fabric.
6. Sewing technique: I can make the tunic in 2 ways: totally by hand (including inner seams and buttonholes) or partly by hand (with few stitches made by hand)

The price is calculated automatically after you complete creating the tunic.

This tunic can be made in standard 48-56 sizes or in custom-size.
