Description

Feldbluse M15 – Imperial German Army

Our Feldbluse M15 pattern was developed through extensive research into surviving original examples and period photographs. An original Feldbluse was carefully measured and examined — without taking it apart or otherwise damaging it — providing first-hand reference for its construction and dimensions. The proportions were further studied across numerous surviving examples and period photographs, and the resulting pattern was then graded to modern sizes while retaining the characteristic cut and silhouette of the M15.

Pattern and historical cut

• Correct body length – proportionally graded with size and height.
• Narrow, sloping shoulders – following the characteristic period silhouette rather than modern jacket construction.
• Historical sleeve construction – smaller armscye, curved sleeve and shaped sleeve head with evenly distributed fullness provide freedom of movement while retaining the correct shoulder line.
• Hand-sewn collar – attached by hand following the construction observed on original Feldblusen.
• Hand-finished sleeve lining – attached to the body lining by hand.

 

Specially reproduced fabrics

Feldgrau wool
Produced in Poland specifically for our uniforms, with the colour and density developed from an original period wool sample.

Resedagrün wool
Produced in Germany. The current colour was developed in cooperation with Bernd Fehrle of Bekleidungsamt XIII and compared directly with original material.

Buttons and hardware

Buttons and hooks are copied directly from originals in our collection.

Our buttons are made from brass for durability rather than the more brittle modern zinc alloys. Their painted finish was developed from original wartime buttons to reproduce their appearance.

Lining

Early M15 Feldblusen used white or light-coloured linings, while later wartime regulations introduced darker, more practical colours. Surviving examples show considerable variation in both material and colour, sometimes even ersatz or-mixed linings. Examples showed below are just few of possible variants.

Accordingly, the lining used in our Feldblusen may vary between individual pieces while remaining consistent with documented wartime practice.

 

Complete your Feldbluse M15

M15 shoulder boards are sold separately and should be selected according to the regiment being represented.

For NCO uniforms, Tresse and sewing service can be added for the appropriate collar and/or cuff configuration.

The Feldbluse can be combined with our Feldhose M15 to complete the uniform.
